Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP)
September 24, 2013
In the food industry, a long shelf life is important. It is not only a testament to the quality of your product, it is a testament to the quality of your brand and the values you share.
That is why Pack Line offers the option on our packaging machinery of modified atmosphere packaging, or MAP, to an endless variety of food products. MAP systems help you preserve the freshness of foods, extend shelf life and keep your brand in good standing with the customer.
In this preservation technique, the Oxygen surrounding the food in the package is changed to another composition so that the contents remain fresh. Our machines create a modified residual oxygen level equal to 0.3-0.4%, leaving just enough oxygen to prevent the growth of germs and molds. This doesn’t only mean freshness, it means that less preservatives or additives are needed in your food to make it last longer on the shelf or in the fridge.
Our proven packaging technology delivers faster outputs and reduces gas consumption. Pack Line has also integrated a revolutionary technology that eliminates the need for vacuum pumps. Traditionally, MAP systems require a vacuum to suck the air out of the package and a gas station to pump inert gases back in. However, our packaging machinery technologies do not require a vacuum which means that there is no change in flavor, texture or appearance to even the most delicate products providing stability and consistency.
Pack Line combines innovative breakthroughs and technologies to give you the best packaging machinery on the market while lowering your maintenance and operation costs.
Our machines are custom-made and built to fit your specifications. For more information about our machines or modified atmosphere packaging, please visit us at www.packlineeast.com or you can contact us at 212-372-7669 or email email@example.com.
